CAMPING - - Remember When!!! Do you remember the first camping adventure that you had ever been on? It may have been in a tent, pop-up camper or even a travel trailer. What an exciting way to see this great country of ours. You can go almost anywhere you want to, from a remote camping site to a campground with playgrounds and pools. My fondest memories are from when I was a child and my family would go camping. These excursions would take us camping anywhere from the lake down the road to the Black Hills of South Dakota to the deserts in We had both a tent and a pop-up camper. When we would get to our campsite we would all help out Dad and Mom by putting up the tent and camper, getting fire wood and small sticks for our night time camp fire. Most of the time it was my bothers that slept in the tent, but was in a while my sisters and I would take it over. I can remember sitting by the campfire roasting marshmallows and making smores, sometimes my Mom would make popcorn instead of all the sweets. There were however, times that we would break out the camp stove for cooking instead of using the fire. This was a much easier way of cooking our “big” catch of the day. You see camping isn’t just about sitting around the camp fire. There are many different things to do while you are out on your adventure. You can go fishing (my favorite), hiking in the woods or even just walking around the lake, if that happens to be where your camping trip has taken you this time. As I grew older, married and had children of my own my husband and me starting taking our girls camping. We started off in a tent with very few of the essential items that are needed to go camping, a couple of fishing poles (Disney one for the girls), just a couple of pots, pans and mainly plastic silverware. What an outdoor adventure that was. We graduated to a pop-up tent camper and fully stocked it with real silverware, plates, and of course of few more pots and pans. We would make our camping trips mainly on week-ends at first and not far from home. Usually down to lake where we would have electricity or sometimes we would go out to more of a remote camping site to try out our survival camping techniques. We also eventually started taking our camping excursions a little further from home. We have been from I really do hope that you all enjoy your wild and adventurous camping excursions that my family and I have grown to love. I can tell you, we now have our first grandchild so I am sure that we will be taking him on some camping trips as well. TigerDirect.comClick here to visit Gear For Camping |
