FISHING FOR FUN
Many people don’t think they can go fishing because they don’t know how to fish or don’t know much about fishing. Fishing is something everyone can do. Learning to fish is half the fun and easier than you might think!
Fishing is a sport that you can get started with very little money. Fishing tackle is used to get your bait or lure to the fish. You don’t need a lot of equipment to begin fishing. In fact, it’s a good idea to begin with basic, fishing pole, fishing line, hooks and bobbers and don’t forget the bait. They are many different types of bait, real worms, chicken liver or you can pick up a lot of different plastic ones at your favorite sporting goods store. You can try more difficult tackle after you’ve mastered some basic skills.
Even though this is a recreational sport, most states require that you have a fishing license. You can get one normally for the whole year, but if you are not a resident of the state that you are fishing in you will need to pick up a 3-day or week license for that state. There are many different types of fishing that you can do, freshwater, saltwater, ice fishing or fly fishing. Remember you may need different types of fishing gear for each sport
Once you are hooked on the sport, 9 out of 10 fishermen will want to get a boat. This can be strictly a fishing boat or one that is fir for both fishing and family fun. Either way I suggest that you also have a trolling motor and oars, just in case the main engine of your boat has problems. Once you get your boat and have complied with all the state rules and regulations it’s time to hit the water and catch the “big one”. Remember it will take a net to get your trophy into the boat.
